Quantity Surveying (QS)


The Space Solutions Quantity Surveying team regularly prices and receives quotes from sub-contractors for various work packages.  This market knowledge is then applied when budget costs are prepared for any refurbishment works.

This approach has certain advantages.  Based on current market rates projects can be negotiated, agreed and accepted on the basis of a known design and specification of works within the need for a full tender exercise.  This saves a great deal of time and means work can be commissioned and mobilised far more quickly than usual.  Cost confidence comes from the fact that rates are constantly being checked and cross-checked by our Quantity Surveying team who price and tender similar works on a daily basis.

When working closely with the design team, the Quantity Surveyor can also advise on costs relating to specification, allowing the designer to make the best decisions on finishes in relation to the Clients expectations for budgets.  Space Solutions employs Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Contract Management professionals across our network of offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, supplementing our commercial building design services which are available to Clients across Scotland.
