| UKOOA opt for Space |
|
Architects and space planners, Space Solutions, has recently completed the new home for the UK Offshore Operators Association (UKOOA) in Aberdeen. Formerly based in Albyn Terrace, the organisation found that they were in need of a larger space to be able to develop new links with Step Change in Safety and CDA, whom they wanted to accommodate within their building. With several property options available UKOOA realised they were in need of some professional help to make the right decision. “The key thing for us was to have a very clear, independent view from the professionals as to which of the short-listed premises best suited our specific needs” explained Amanda Cameron, Business Administrator at UKOOA. “Space Solutions were invited to put forward proposals and we were very happy with their attitude and approach from day one. Having discussed our needs and the dynamics of our organisation, we jointly created a brief and that enabled them deliver well thought out solutions. Ultimately, we were able to make a decision with absolute clarity. The fact that they held our hand throughout the project by contracting the works, project managing the fit-out and taking care of the relocation itself was all a bonus.” Mark Wilson, Contracts Manager at Space Solutions is keen to point out the huge benefit in one single professional practice handling the project. “Clients need to have absolute confidence in all the different disciplines and having just one central point where everyone has an intimate understanding of the project saves a huge amount of time and can prove extremely efficient in other areas too. Our architects, space planners, interior designers, contracting staff and relocations team all worked together to create an ideal office location for UKOOA and ensured smooth delivery at every stage of the project.”Central to the new space is a carefully designed Conference Room, aptly overlooking the harbour. Creating a single room within the space to accommodate 36 members of the Association for monthly meetings was something of a challenge, but Space Solutions have configured it in such a way that it can also be broken down to accommodate other needs throughout the month. The 3,650 sq ft of space, features the tan and blue of the UKOOA identity on feature walls and in the floor-covering design. The clean, open space provides discreet areas as well as hot-desking for visiting executives. The Exchange, itself recently refurbished is an increasingly attractive proposition for companies looking for good quality, contemporary space in a dramatic setting. Space Solutions often supply this type of turnkey package to clients who realise the benefits to be gained from working with one supplier for their whole property project: from architecture and space planning to interior design and relocation packages Space Solutions help their clients to find and make the best use of their chosen space. |
