Turnover hits £4.5 million as innovative design and property services company expands in central belt Ambitious architecture and space planning business Space Solutions has seen its turnover rocket by 60% to £4.5 million in the first half of 2006 and has capped a successful six months by expanding into Glasgow. Space Solutions already has successful operations in Aberdeen and Edinburgh and the company has now bolstered its central belt presence by recruiting a team and opening its first permanent office in Glasgow in the city’s Bath Street. Space Solutions offer the answers to issues associated with commercial space – providing services including architecture, space planning and interior design, refurbishment and fit-out, furniture storage, logistics and installation, commercial move management and relocation, and even crate hire. The company’s impressive growth has been driven by attracting and retaining high calibre clients such as BSkyB, Bank of New York, Vodafone, Wood Group, ConocoPhillips and the Scottish Executive. The half-year results also highlight a significant investment in people, with headcount across Space Solutions’ network of Scottish offices increasing from 60 in 2005 to 85 this year. Space Solutions Managing Director Steve Judge said: “The six months to June 2006 have seen continued turnover growth. “We have grown the company without having to acquire other businesses, which is tremendously encouraging and demonstrates we are offering a service that isn’t being met via traditional suppliers. “Our growth has been organic and our expansion into Glasgow illustrates that we are serious about our ambitions to become a recognised and respected player across the whole of Scotland. “We see Glasgow as the next logical location for us, as the commercial property market has been particularly strong there for the past couple of years and we see this as being key to our continued growth.” Space Solutions was established in Aberdeen in 1996. Plans are already in the pipeline to open a further office in Dundee. Recent high profile assignments have seen the company undertake the design and fit-out of Wood Group’s new headquarters in Glasgow and the refurbishment of 10 floors at Communities Scotland’s new HQ at Waterloo Street in Glasgow. Personnel with significant sector expertise have been recruited to head up the Glasgow operation. Jamie Gray has joined Space Solutions as senior business manager. |
