Primary Pupils Enjoy VIP Trip Courtesy of Space Solutions
meiklemill.jpgThirty four primary pupils enjoyed a VIP trip to Scotland’s home of rugby in the capital recently thanks to leading architecture and space planning firm, Space Solutions.

The primary seven pupils from Meiklemill School in Ellon travelled to Murrayfield by coach before being given a special guided tour of the stadium, trophy room and even the changing rooms. The excursion also included a tour of Edinburgh Castle.

Bosses at Space Solutions bid for and won the excursion during an auction at a recent charity event.

The company contacted Bill Kennie, chairman of rugby club Granite City Reds, to help identify a group of young people able to take up the offer and to whom a trip to Murrayfield would be a meaningful experience.

Lorna Keith, deputy head teacher at Meiklemill Primary School, said: “The children had an absolutely wonderful day and we are very grateful to Space Solutions for giving them this opportunity.

“For some pupils, it was the first time they had ever been to Edinburgh but they all agreed the trip to Murrayfield was the best part of the day and have come back full of enthusiasm about everything they saw.”

The deputy head said some pupils had even been motivated to learn how to play rugby.

Steve Judge, Managing Director of Space Solutions, said: “We are pleased to have been able to give these youngsters a memorable day out at two Scottish landmarks which are part of our sporting and tourism heritage.

“It is wonderful that the visit has inspired some of them take up a new sport and become more active.”
