Porters (Weekends, part-time / adhoc) 

Porters Plus is the accommodation support and general property maintenance service from the Commercial Relocations division of Space Solutions in Aberdeen.

To support our core team we have vacancies for weekend porters on either a part-time or ad-hoc basis.

Key responsibilities include: (Full Job Description)

  • undertaking general portering duties
  • moving and relocating office furniture
  • moving Space crates and IT equipment

Skills required:

  • physically fit, as manual handling work involved
  • good communication skills and a professional attitude
  • high regard for health and safety protocols
  • full clean driving licence

Over the summer period we require additional support for evening and weekend work on both a part-time and ad-hoc basis, dependent on workload.  A driving licence is essential, but appropriate PPE, uniform and training will be provided.

Job description 

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake general portering duties including, moving and relocating of office furniture and IT equipment and routine maintenance work as required.
  • To employ safe working practices and to ensure that any work is carried out with due regard to those who use and work in buildings.
  • To inform Supervisor of any areas requiring attention
  • To ensure all areas are kept/left in a clean and tidy manner during ongoing relocations.
  • Respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, wearing at all times the standard uniform
  • Flexibility is essential as weekend work is required.

 

Required Skills/Experience

  • Driving licence holder
  • Attention to detail and a sense of urgency in completing tasks is required.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well as a team and on own initiative.
  • Able to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Physically fit
  • Training in manual handling desired although not essential
