Contract / Project Manager: Aberdeen, Glasgow

We’re looking for an energetic and ambitious person with at least two years commercial experience, preferably in the construction industry to join our busy Contracting Division in Aberdeen and also in Glasgow.

You will be responsible for the successful delivery and management of key projects from inception to handover, ensuring all contracts are delivered within agreed timescales and budgets and to the highest quality standards. Applicants should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills as you will be required to liaise with the design team, contractors and the client throughout each development.

You should be a team player with a proactive approach and a thorough understanding of contract management with relevant project experience.  Previous management experience and “can do attitude” are essential to succeed in this position. (See full job description )

Job Description: 

The Contract Manager will provide a Main Contractor service to a variety of clients in both private and public sectors, specialising in commercial property mostly offices, working in both occupied and unoccupied premises

Ideally the candidate will be experienced in managing roll out programmes of fit-out and refurbishment contracts, and will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of project delivery to programme, budget and to the required quality standards.

Key tasks include:

  • Providing input into pre-construction activities
  • Producing contract programmes
  • Producing procurement programmes
  • Managing the planning of work methods, resources and systems
  • Monitoring and controlling contract cost, quality and progress
  • To carry out such duties and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and associated legislation.
  • Establish and collate all project documentation in accordance with the Contract Management procedures and ensure all auditable evidence if accounted for.
  • Monitor performance of the Construction Project to ensure resources are used efficiently and effectively.  Co-ordinate management information reports on project activities so that progress can be monitored.
